Online shopping is a relatively new in India, but is slowly catching up as an easier option rather than going out and shopping. Who wouldnt want to buy things at the comfort of their home? But for the tradionalists who shop by going from one market to another, still find it hard to break away from their set patterns. With cities getting more and more crowded, driving to one bazaar and then to another shopping complex can be very tiresome plus dangerous. And for those not living in metropolitan cities, their choice and range of items is very limited. And those running online shops can offer discounts and special offers because they dont have the hassle of spending money for rent or electricity or employees.
What is the down side? You need an onilne bank account, but even that is provided by national banks as a basic service. Also some people are scared of losing their money through online fraud. But with trusted payment gateways such as CCAvenue such fears can be allayed.
